Employment Status: Full-time, Regular, 12-month, 40 hours per week
 
FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE REQUIRED, including days, evenings and weekends as needed.
 
While employee will have a primary work assignment, employee will be assigned to other work assignments based on College needs, and at the discretion of the Food Service Manager.
Function
Responsible for performing all aspects of Cafeteria and Catering operations in Culinary Services.
Organizational Relationships
Position reports to the Food Service Manager, who reports to the Director of Purchasing and Auxiliary Operations, who reports to the Vice President of Administrative Services, who reports to the College President.
Required
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A current Food Sanitation License or willingness to obtain one
- Current food allergen certificate
- A positive attitude
- A working knowledge of basic food service operations
- Ability to cook, according to recipes and instructions
- Ability to read and interpret written instructions
- Compliance with Health Department and Food Safety Regulations
- Ability to work independently
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in organizing
- Attention to detail
- Customer service oriented
- Commitment to teamwork
- Willingness to travel to locations within the College district for Catering Events.
Preferred
Prior food service experience and/or coursework preferred.
Essential Functions
- Provide excellent customer service to all guests of Cafeteria and Catering.
- Provide assistance with and participate in all aspects of Cafeteria and Catering operations as assigned, including cooking, serving, cleaning, dishwashing, cashiering and any other related functions.
- Assist with planning Cafeteria and Catering events as needed.
- Operate cash register and be accountable for cash register operations during assigned shift.
- Assist with inventory, ordering and restocking, as assigned.
- Ensure quality and attention to detail in all aspects of Cafeteria and Catering.
- Proper use and maintenance of College assets and/or equipment.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Controls
Position will be expected to work with a minimum amount of supervision. Consultation with supervisor is available as needed.
Guidelines

Personal Relationships
Position will have daily contact with students, College employees and community members.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
High-traffic, busy environment with frequent distractions interruptions. Must be able to work under frequent deadlines. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and lift up to fifty pounds.
